– Determination of bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE)
– Resistance to breathing (Delta P)
– Bioburden (microbiological cleaniness of the mask)
– Biocompatibility (cytotoxicity, skin irritation and sensitization or bibliographic evaluation).

We know that medical and paramedical staff must wear these devices for many hours a day, often sweating and in conditions of great stress. Thus, aside protecting against biological agents, the masks must not release substances that can give adverse effects on the skin.
